Fair play! It was great to watch lol we'll put together a vid of you and post it up but it wont be til late tomorrow probably.

That's great mate thanks was a great day one of the best drift days I've been on

definately going to be booking in may. the open pit lanes are the best option by far!! thanks so much for arranging it!! will the people who done this drift day get priority booking for the next open pit lane in may?

The word "sessions" upsets me! Open pit lane worked like an absolute stunner today, virtually every time I wanted to go on track I got on instantly. Absolutely blinding marshalling!

Not sure to be honest if i'd consider a sessions day.

Oh, open pit lane.. see you there in May!!!!

this makes me upsettings!! :(:(

surley lyden were happy with the turn out to host another open pit lane day?

My thoughts exactly!

To be fair you could easily get another 10 in. I'd be very very disappointed if it went mad and the days ended up with too many people although ging by today you could definately cater for a few more and work from there and manage as you go along.

Open pit lane please Lydden! :D :D :D :D :D

Personally i don't think i will be doing a sessions day, its more money and you have to go out when told and that sorta ruins the relaxed atmosphere of a skid day. It was nice today to just go out when ever and it worked well. Don't see why you have to have sessions.....

Footage good I take it :). That reminds me, Andrew filmed us coming back through the Dartford Tunnel and my car made the loudest bang I've ever heard. Can't wait to see the video of it :).

Will post the pictures in a few moments.

Daz

Nice pics dude! I loaded the tunnel vid straight onto andy's lap top so I'm sure he'll show it to you next time he see's you or send it to you.

Good to meet you btw

I thought the day went really smoothly with little or no wait to get on track. Tyre changing was painfull to watch :wack: but glad its going to be sorted for the next one.

Interested in doing the feb lyd day but not sure about the sessions. What will the parking/tyre changing area in the paddock be like if its run alongside another event??

hey guys just got back and well what a day.... track is awesome real technical and a mix of corners with loads to learn for all levels organisation was great marshalls and so on spot on believe me its appreciated how you guys stand out there for us all to have a good time.

tyre guy.... seemed a nice guy, without him i certainly wouldnt have been out on track as much as i was and im sure many others would have been in the same position lets face facts although it may not be what some of us are used to he worked all day the same as the marshals to ensure we all had a good day and it gave the cars some much needed cool down time that they probally wouldnt have got.

only thing i noticed which i thought was just plain stupid was one person being a cock in the car park theres a track with a load of corners on to drift so why the need to do it in the pits with people walking about ... not a knock on the track or its staff though day was amazing and cannot wait to be back

good work on organising this lez,

Hahaha the amount of times i swear you were gonna stack it!

Awesome!

Really really unsure as to whether i'd want to do the session day? Can you explain more about it? It doesn't sound like you'd get much track time..?

What is the deal with arranging more open pit lane days? Will there be any in between Feb and May?

Sorry for the questions! Today was awesome and I need to do some more skids there!

The session days are run alongside a trackday, there are 4 groups 3 grip driver levels and 1 drift group & each group gets a 15 min session every hour, there will be 8 drift sessions, all it u get about 2hrs seat time, its £99 same as today, i no it sounds like a stupid idea but it does work.

The only dates Lydden have available were the feb and may ones, its a busy little place, they have british & euro rallyX in march & april. The feb date was already arranged as a trackday hence sessions and may was the next date we could have, I only started organising these last june at which time we didnt no how this would all turn out so it was a bit of a gamble which ment we could set anything in stone for this year, but following today i hope we can arrange more dates after may on a more regular basis

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME DAY! Best drift day iv'e been to so far without a doubt.

Firstly, the staff were brilliant. So friendly and the older dude who gave the breifing was a true gent and kind bloke.

Secondly, SO much seat time! i wouldnt bother running it in sessions at all TBH, as it sorted itself out towards the end of the day.

Lastly, all the questions and comments i was getting about my escort made me proud, lol.

Will deffo be coming again.

Only gripe, tyre bloke......... not his fault i suppose though.

Thanks for all ur comments i pass them on the the staff, & glad ur coming back

It really werent the tyre guys fault i supplied the tyres, and i slightly:wack: got the amounts & sizes wrong, afraid i have to take responiblitly for it.

not sure about priority bookings, doubt i can swing that
this makes me upsettings!! :(:(

Lydden were well happy with the day, not just the turn out but the whole atomosphere, may will be open pit lane but as above other stuff going on there

Hell, for the next event I might photograph the drift sessions and take my car out on track for the grip sessions :D.

I was very tempted to go on track today for a few cheeky laps lol.

Thanks for explaining that. Now I know for sure it does sound like it would be better than I originally thought. I'll put some thought into it. Come the open-pit days though i'll be a regular here as everything about the place is great!

Thats really good to know Lydden were happy. You hear about so many circuits that aren't happy whether it be with the noise, cars spinning off and damaging the track constantly, etc, the list goes on - usually the word drift gets mentioned and you get told to get lost. The marshalls did a really good job and the guy doing the briefing seemed like a really sound guy. Everyone there had a great attitude, I hope it stays like this as if this turns into a bigger monthly/every other month thing we could really be on to something good. Especially if Mallory is still off, although to tell you the truth i'd opt this over Mallory anyday as it stands.

Fair play with regards to the organising, i'd love to do this every month or so. Bring on May onwards :D

Just like to say thanks to everyone involved for today, it went so well. Couldn't have wished for a better track & organisation. Huge track time possible, just waiting fo tyres was the downer, but those guys were working they're nuts off all day for us, massive props for doing your best & keeping up with our tyre needs!!

I realllyyyyy hope this open pit-lane at Lydden becomes a more regular thing, because this was genuinely the most fun I've had at a drift day to date, and I've been to about 14 now all told.

The track is amazing, few different corners to learn and I love the ability to just chill on cool-down laps for a bit without worrying that your session-time is running out - ie, you're not pressured to drift the living shit out of your car constantly :)

Anyway, let us know if you're planning on doing this again soon. I'm so game for this, please make it a monthly or bi-monthly thing??

awesome day!! well marshalled!!

well done Lez.. fantastic..

well done to Ross, ricky and everyone else mentioned in my facebook post earlier..!!

Went as a spectator today and could tell everyone was having fun. The guy in the sierra was great to watch. Fair play mate. I need to get a clutch in my car and definitely up for the May one.
