Drifting Career Start - how to start the modifications?

WHAT? '16', 'no job', 'got a bit of money', 'going to follow my drift dream', 'never drifted before'

Taking up drifting to make a career from it is totally the wrong reason. There are already a shitload of people in this country and Japan with more than enough tallent to be better than some of the people in FD, but its about getting noticed and getting a ride. I would also speculate that the vast majority of FD drivers do not actually make money from it either. Definately not enough to make a 'career' from it anyway.

Also, I'm pretty sure by the time you hit 18 you'll find plenty of stuff to spend your money on.

I wish you luck, but I think you need to be a bit more realistic.

Are you talking about the airfield where the museum of flight is? I cant imagaine them letting you go on there making all that noise when its right next to a fucking museum

Fuck, when I was your age my only goal in life was to bang my mates mum........turned out I had about as much chance as you do making a career out of drifting!!
Go to college, learn a profession and make a career out of that, much better chance!!

Come off it, this kid clearly knows exactly what he's doing. He's probably played Forza and watched Tokyo Drift eleventy times.

"After you rip that E-Brake then I want you to power over." SORTED. He'll have BDC sewn up in no time.

Step 1 - Ask fucking stupid questions.
Step 2 - Argue with the angry DW citizens.
Step 3 - Don't buy anything, because money, air field, ability to trailer the car, fuck it. EVERYTHING is fictional.
Step 4 - PROFIT!!!

I appreciate the advice, I have done a lot I do with drifting, support it for a big period of time and I understand it is expensive, I will do what it takes, otherwise life is boring as there ain't much to do at all! :p
 
If a jobless 16 year old who cant drive pitched up on my doorstep and asked me if their internet mates they hadnt ever met could use my airfield for skidding a load of cars around, surely theres only one answer to give??

What have you done to do with drifting?

Surely if you had done alot to do with drifting you would know what car to buy, what to do with it and that you cant make money out of it?
 
You can buy my car if you want as i've just decided that im going to pack up drifting and become an F1 driver cos I saw Lewis Hamilton on the TV and he has nice cars and a good looking girlfriend..........im sure silverstone will let me practice every saturday when they're not using the track for free and then I will be professional :)

Thanks, i understand that i have to be more realistic and there are many more talented people out there that deserve much more but i mean i want to have fun, and if i can actually learn things without there being people laughing at me then its fine, ill give it a shot and ill practice, if it doesn't go the way i planned then too bad, at least i tried :)

Other people do, what gives them the right to and not me?, there is car testing going on there etc.

haha yeah thats the plan, i will have education too, but if i want to drift, im gonna drift and have fun, obviously looking to get a career in it is looking way forward in the long run.

and what makes you think you know me so well? why not just leave me to it? look at the forum post, its so i can learn what to do. why not leave me to it instead of leaving smart-ass comments just because i don't know as much as you do?
