True, although i did say that the airfield is open to anyone with permission, as its a useless large space used for nothing but a sunday market.
no, im trying to be serious and ask about what the most appropriate modifications are, i'd love to make a career out of it in the long run - i don't understand how thats such a big problem?
Mate, if that was the case it would be full of pikeys in their non mobile mobile homes, people flying model aeroplanes about and probably a cheeky bit if jihad practice for the local Al Quaeda boys.
Oh, and people taking Instagram shots of cars in the sunset and shit.
Ok, I think one of the issues here is exactly this ^^^^ mate. The guys on here are trying to get the point across to you that there's (currently at least) no money in drift, therefore technically you couldn't make a career out of it in the truest sense of the term
however
if you go and get qual'd up and proficient in one of the many areas that are relied upon from guys within the drift scene (ie. mapping/fabrication/product design and development/bodyshop/alignment etc etc), then yes, you could look at a career 'in drifting' in as much as 'drifting is your hobby that you subsidise through working within the drift scene/motorsport industry
drifting is a hobby and not a career mate.
This thread is rapidly approcahing full retard now too.
Basically, the crux is, there are no careers in drifting. We all do it as a hobby and after just watching the 'keep drifting fun' video it actually seems like there is a lot less money in the American scene than there looks to be.
Probably the closest people to making a career from drifting are Phil and James of Driftworks. And theirs is actually a career in retail.

Beautiful.
Personally, I feel he's going about it entirely the right way. Buy car. Skid car in a large, open, empty space. You know, a space with no people. Then get noticed for legendary skidding in the empty place, by the people who aren't there. Or drive a kart. Or maybe an F1 car. Touring car maybe? Fuck it. Buy a llama, ride that around. It'll certainly make you stand out, and maybe you'll get snapped up for the yearly llama racing tournaments in Uzfuckistan.
Like the one right behind me? Thats owned by my landlord for 5 years, the one that Ive paid £100K in rent for over the last 5 years? The ones thats been used for testing F1 cars in the past?
"No chance" in his exact words, "why would I want a load of scummy bastards tearing my runway up for £50 a day, even if there was 30 of them at a time"
When I asked if I could go have a go on my own he told me to do one.
And Im not 16, Im gainfully employed, I put a shitload of money in his pocket every year and Im only asking for a quick go, once.
haha, yeah well cars get tested in there already etc
and i know all we need is permission as people have asked and got in before
Previously used for f1 testing or is still used for testing?
I've lost count how many times I've seen people say it now.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CAREERA IS DRIFTING, there is no one that is a professional drift racer as a full time job, and yet I kee seeing you say that "in the long run I'd like a drifting career".
So please just fuck off.
If you do have £2,000 to spend on a skid car and you do have an airfield at your grasp and a trailer and tow car please prove us al wrong I'd love to see it.
Your question was what modifications should you do to a drift car..
I assume you mean to just get started, 1st of all get your diff welded once you've done that get coilovers then go practice after that then you'll know what you need to get better.
But the sad story is, you don't, you've been talking shit from the beginning, you know it aswell as everyone else on here, so kindly do us a favour and fuck off, unless which I very highly doubt your not lying in which case a wait to be proven wrong.
Thankyou & goodnight.
Well, 'Career' meaning dedicating a lot of time into the car, and going to put on a show and ending up maybe in the top 32 at some point. I will do it as a hobby up until the point that i want to take drifting further and think of something
