Todays update: (19/03/2009)

Part Two: Evening update.

Ok so after a spot of lunch and afternoon tea (this is for the Americans btw)..

I got cracking with re-masking up parts properly and mask/cling filming the cage.. I didn’t rush it as gaps = fail.. but there’s BOUND to be parts I doo miss so will touch them up with green after. So anyway pics:

Then once I had done my best to cover at least the worst of it I set about attacking the car with a satin black. Yes yes yes boring I know, But..

A: Its cheap
B: Can touch it up eaaaassyy.. and its cheap
C: No glare to worry about
D: Its cheap.

Pics do talking:

As you can see I er.. missed a few bits! :p :wack:
Truth be told I ran outa light and its not easy painting round the cage etc..
Nail in the coffin was i was down to one can of black and it was coughing.. so i gave up for tonight. will carry on tomorrow morning

I’m going to do another layer, but I think time will be short as I have to do some serious panel scrubbing as it goes for paint on Sunday.

i think you should have painted the interior silver, would look much better against the cage. plus you can get it cheap.

one Q, why didnt you just remove the two plates in the boot rather than masking them up?

GLAAAAAARRRE. trust me I HATE light interiors, glare and he durt show up so so so so much.. and after norfolk last year.. with a 3DAY EVENT there this yr... ill be screwed if im gonna clean the inside every round. The outside was lucky if it got a wash last season!

im guessing he is gonna paint those bits the same colour as the body

or cage colour, but wasnt sure. End of the day it may end up staying boggo silver as I'm not traielr fairying it, Means there will be tyres in it and it will get scratched up as will cage etc, hense im not too fussy on how well i paint it. :wack::D

Next I’m spraying the doors ghetto rushed style, then goin to get more black in case I need to do more as I know the outside spray job is gonna be cheap so I’ll need more to patch up red bits that don’t go.. well green or *******. :D:p ;)

I also have to install all the interior again so I can drive it to matts tomorrow morning EAARRLLY!

Late Edit:
Just lookin round the car i need to do ALOT to get the bugger roadworth again to drive to matts tomorrow!!! Again Panic mode setting in! :(:(:(

cheers for comments.

It really is ghetto style and not as clean as it looks I promise. Is a shame I have to cover the cage up with padding (ONCE I FIND SOME GREEN PADDING FFS)..

anyway jsut popped in to get some bits and off back out to her.

seats are in (more effort than it sounds), interiors backing back together. doing harnesses now.

need to do indicators, bonnet pins.. i guess some rear licence plate lights, put more than 3 nuts on my wheels! :wack: and sort spacers about. .. All that JUST so I cant get it to drive.

Then I gotta do some serious WAX ON WAX OFF fast to panel prep it for sunday.

yup... another late one. :(:(
wont whine but im also ill (paint fumes and alcohol we suspect) and dont my back somehow. Oh and i have to do some work for new job tonight.. about 4 hrs of code proably..
then be up at 7am..

the world hates me.
