Seriously though i think this is an awesome build and will be seriously worth it once done

will redo it properly after season end..

Update coming in a sec..

Todays update: (20/03/2009)

Part Two: Evening update.

Ok got a fair bit of ‘rebuilding and tidying’ done this afternoon/evening.

First thing I did was put the passenger and driver seat back in and then my FIA EARS harness that I used in the s14 last season went in..

Now in the S14, the passenger harness shoulder straps were attached to eyebolts.. the rear ‘clips’ were non-removable so I couldn’t use the harness bar..

Key word…. ‘was

It put up a damn good fight to cut it mind! :wack: But out came the trusty grinder with cutting disc and it had no chance. :D

Ended up with a tidy looking interior.. ish:

Not sure whether to get a black Sparco Pro2000 cover OOOR sell it for a seat I saw in another thread:

What you think?

Anyway

I used the last of my black spray up on the door.. Will do the rest of the red bits once I have time.. not a priority right now. I Need to get it drivable and its getting late.

First on agenda was to secure the bonnet down as currently it was just lined up. I removed the original Bonnet pins that came with the bonnet and mock up the BDC compliant normal ones. They were locking bonnet pins from JDM land:

The holes were already cut so after sorting it out enough that the holes lined up, I began getting the height sorted and after a few love taps with a f*ck-off hammer.. it all aligned nicely and became this:

Finally I fitted to my best ability the front indicators.. One was fine but the passenger side one is ACTUALLY another driver one. We forced it on the standard plastic bumper for mot, but it wont fit in the fiberglass so will be hunting for a new/2nd hand one.

I think did a bunch of boring crappy jobs.. sorted rear licence plate and front licence plate.. Moved my FN rims to the rear of the car and put the original rims back on the front for now to help clearance.

#By that point it was pitch black, but I have a decent shot of the front after pins and indicators (kinda) so yea.. that was today.

Black Sparco seat for sure, although i reckon it would look the tits with 2 matching seats, or at least the same colour :)

when you reckon it will be completed ??

The black seat is a mega budget job if its the one I think it is, looks cool from the front with that stiching, but is like a Cobra Monaco or Sparco Sprint when seen side on, so I doubt youd like it so much.

The car is the bollocks though man, good quick work

Don't fix what aint broke - the seat in there is fine, and you obviously know, and have used it. Why spend the money (that you don't have!) on another one...

...wheels on the other hand, are a higher priority - keep saving up for them geezer, it'll be worth it!

I LOVE that cage colour btw. Too much black for my liking, but its a good contrast. Personally I'd probably have 'lightened' the interior with silver over lots of panels that'd not reflect at me, e.g. rear of car, tranny tunnel, etc. Buuuut, thats more work!

I know how much of a PITA and how time consuming it can be to re-fit interior! Getting my carpet back in the for MOT was a bitch! Well done though.

i may have found dish dude. possibly not to everyones taste. but i have found some..now its just 'how' i get my hands on them.

could have sworn i saw some super advans for sale on here earlier, although i think they were quite highly priced,

savage work dude. you've been working flat out this week! looks soo much better now its painted! cant wait to see it when its done.

cheers dylan. it goes for prep tomorrow then paint sunday so monday onwards no more multicolour rx. yay. lol

Valo: I already have found the wheels, just gotta figure how to pay for them and if i actually prefer them..

If I keep the FN's then I still need to find some (j's to match the style for the front. I Cant run 10j at the front.

:(:(:(:

so I have 3 weeks to find and buy 9j's... to match the style.. not the colour as I can spray if needed..

Or i buy them (9j front, 10j rear) and see if i can keep the FN's as well.. although I fear I'll need to sell them to buy the dish..

I dunno.. I havent got a wheel sponsor so i dont even get discounts. :(

good work sir!

"While this was going on.. we went about removing both ARB’s.. yes that’s right.. removing them both, I had some insider info and guidance so I was not going to argue, apparently doing this helps with the classic ‘snappyness’ of the car:"

that sounds like crazyness.. is it still ARB less? how does it feel?

is that JTP, insider info and guidance? :smokin:

Why can't you run 10j's on the front? Scrubbage? If its just personal preference, stretch tyres and live with it. If its scrubbage, then fair enough!

Look out for a pair of wheels from somewhere mebbe? Wheel whores? I'm with Dylan too - the FN's aren't bad, but the Kakimoto's aren't any better, so no gain!

What is the approx wheel budget btw? I'm happy to waste some of my time searching around for you... Oh, and the wheel size, I appear to have missed that info?! 17 or 18"?

Yup is still like it and will be for season.

and yeah direct from the FC legend that is Mr Pawlak. He has alot to do with this car.. all will be revealed soon. :smokin::smokin:

Keep the Pro2000 seat. As Stav said, the other one is proper budget, won't even compare!
I am.. just want a black cover for it, which is impossible to get unless direct from sparco. :( moonniies!

I get scrubbage on both inside and outside of both wheels with 8j :Wack.. so even with spacers.. 10j are NOT gonna work with the mods coming up. Trust me. i know 9.5 dones seem that much differnce, but Im having a replica setup in alignment and spacing to improve track and grip setup. So 9's or 9.5's a must.

gonna keep the FN's, but need a set of something simular for the front in 9's or 9.5... the BEST option so far is to go buy 2 x 17"/9.5 et12 Rota GTR's (5 spoke in bronze and concave).. relatively cheap.. but it just feels 'wrong' :wack:

Budget is cheeeap 600 max tbh.. and to raise 600 = selling FN's or my rays+cash
