Julian Barnes: Thief - Severnside imports - Achilles Tire - Low Brain Drifters

I think people who are trying to defend or justify this scamming asshole need to think for a minute. Why/could there be a number of different people telling the rest of us of their bad experiance with proof that they got shafted, also plus a company like Driftworks just wanting to let people know of their experiance be wrong or lying.

I think there should be a sticky thread put up with name and shame all the companys/people with details and pictures so as many people are aware of them. Pretty sure there are other forums which have done this or something simular.
And people should really take onboard the posts from Mr. White which show what some people are capable of. Really sad to think that there are people like this around ruining and giving drifting a bad name.
Just my 2pence worth.

The thing is, to fuck over/rob money off a guy that he doesn't know from Adam is one thing but to shaft a guy who is supposed to be a mate is so much worse on several levels

Don't involve me in any of this. Everyone in this scene has things they have covered up, if they all came out now, it would make the saville scandal look tame.

It's the Low Brain in Low Brain TV you see, that's where I've got my wires crossed thinking for some reason that you may have been endorsing the Low Brain Drifters franchise with various productions etc. I haven't suggested (and I don't see that anybody else has either) that you have or had direct involvement with Low Brain Speedshop and/or the company Low Brain

Dan not everyone has skeletons in the closet, We have covered up nothing in this "scene" except for the fact that there are some are utter pricks in the UK scene to deal with, and outing the flea bags would be a good thing.

this man obviously owes a lot of money to people or has scammed them out of their money ... shame really as there are some nice people who have been a victim of all this. :(

Same reason nobody came forward about Jimmy Saville for so long I guess. Maybe each person sat there thinking they were the only one, or were worried about the backlash from all the groupies, like we've seen on here.

If there's a big problem in the scene, it's not so much that there are scammers and shites out there trying to pull a fast one - you get them everywhere - it's that there's a weird attitude of silence about it. The worst is seeing people getting a load of grief as if it's their fault that they've been the victim of a crime. If the vast majority were prepared to work together to try and stamp it out, then potentially things could change, but while you have this majority who seem to sympathise with criminals, then things will never change and the drift scene will continue to be seen as dodgy and full of criminals.

But let's not forget the huge number of people out there who really do deliver good products and services, often operating on minimal profits and doing their best to help people out.

Swings and roundabouts, people always moaning about people makes the scene look bad, it being covered up lets it carry on. Some stuff claimed by people may be unfounded so it's bad to be posted, but if nothing is posted things never get found out. From the view of the 'scene' I guess you damned if you do, damned it you don't.

I remember many years ago (maybe 10 now) me and a few others happened across the accounts of a certain VERY big owners club (so one that organised numerous big shows and events at big tracks up and down the UK every year). Despite their claims it was totally non profit and all payments were used for making the club what it was, the accounts shown that they (which accounted for literally a few people) were spending upwards of 30k a year of the clubs money on 'Travel and Accomodation'. So they were blatantly going on holiday etc at others expenses.
That all got covered up and deleted IIRC I was banned for life.
Swings and roundabouts once more, people don't wanna be ripped off, but if they knew the consequences are the big 'scene' that revolved around this club would fall apart, and it was literally thousands of peoples hobbies (or indeed whole lives) at the time.
