Mercedes C230 Kompressor

lol, let me know wha you want for it, i think with a larger pulley, machined sc pulley and a ported charger should be enough for a daily driver :)

ive got my project car for mega speed :D

Hi stav I'm not following ya around mate lol I joined mbclub for a bit of advice in tuning my c230k sport and got told Fuck all but maybe maybe not and if I wanted a fast merc sell mine and buy an amg this or amg that ,and kept getting told by someone who had 30 years experience in rallying that a needed a cylinder head capable of withstanding 9000bhp or something yea you no who I mean any way I was following your progress with yours on there but just couldn't stand the rest of the cocks on there that think they new everything, anyway I tried water injection and it made fuckall difference however polishing the charger does work and the biggest difference I got was the large front mounted intercooler and hard pipes ,pulls much harder and feels a lot more lively ,mine is the early one so I avent got tc thank Fuck .I'm still waiting for my pulley ,so until then can't work out wat size cc injected or fuel press reg or anything I will need ,r you still running cats mate or you removed them ,and were did you get the ex manifold ,also did you ever remap I never got a straight answer of anyone on mbclub were go get it done or better still was there anyone who can remap them ,anyway cheers and I Will let ya no what mines like with a welded diff hopefully this weekend ?

I joined mbclub for a bit of advice in tuning my c230k sport....

got told Fuck all

maybe maybe not

if I wanted a fast merc sell mine and buy an amg this or amg that

kept getting told by someone who had 30 years experience in rallying that a needed a cylinder head capable of withstanding 9000bhp or something yea you no who I mean

just couldn't stand the rest of the cocks on there that think they new everything

That sums that place up perfectly!

I tried water injection and it made fuckall difference

Me either :(

polishing the charger does work

I think im too lazy to remove it! If I remove it ill prob just fit a turbo!

the biggest difference I got was the large front mounted intercooler and hard pipes ,pulls much harder and feels a lot more lively

Had a feeling it would! What intercooler you using and how you fit it? The standard boost pipes and intercooler winds round the rad and all that metalwork shit so it looks a right mission.

mine is the early one so I avent got tc thank Fuck

Well Ive unplugged the ABS module, and though it seems its stopped it braking the wheels, it bogs a bit too easy in higher gears for me, and its making me wonder if its still got some kind of subtle TC working on the electronic throttles

Fucking hope not, i need to find a big open space to try it, as on the road it could just be bogging down due to grip....

I'm still waiting for my pulley

Mine didnt fit! Too small.

until then can't work out wat size cc injected or fuel press reg or anything I will need

The forums claim the stock ECU compensates for more power quite well, but you KNOW they never ever tried, so who knows!

r you still running cats mate or you removed them ,and were did you get the ex manifold

stock exhaust for now as the only thing i heard about it is the usual 'maybe maybe not' mb bollocks, lol.

did you ever remap I never got a straight answer of anyone on mbclub were go get it done or better still was there anyone who can remap them

Viezu, Paramount Performance, and Evolution Chips can all do it. BUT its a cunt. Mine wouldnt read thru the diag port. We removed the ECU and then it would read but not write. Last option is physically fit a chip, BUT that fucks up dead easy on the type of ECU they have, and as its coded to the ignition key and barrell, its a cunt of a job if it goes wrong, so we didnt bother!

I Will let ya no what mines like with a welded diff hopefully this weekend ?

Good shit, let me know. Soon as I can be sure the TC or something isnt fucking me over ill buy a 3.91 diff from the breakers and weld it up.

Hi,

Ive been always looking on this forum, finally someone drifting a mercedes lol, ive got a C280 and a e55 which I have been drifting, on the c280 diff is welded and straight thru exhaust with a back box only, and comes out pretty sweet, the problem i was haveing was with the traction, if i dsconnect the pump it would limit the car to 4000rpm only, the only way i found around this was to put a wire from the front abs sensors to the back abs sensor in the diff, this way the car thinks the traction is fine and nothing wrong with it so it does not limit it, also own a merc breakers yard in bham,

my daily is a c180 supercharged, since ive decated it i have realised that you lose some power when you put your foot down however as soon as it hits mid revs you have got alot more power

I have disconnected the pump wiring and it certainly revs out ok, but I dunno, sometimes after a bit, especially in 3rd, it feels like it bogs too easy considering how easy it was spinning a few secs earlier, which makes me think some electronic shit is messing with me...

Could you explain what wires to join mate? That sounds like a mint solution :worthy::worthy:

each front wheel has a ABS Sensor, and each sensor has two wires, there is one sensor in the rear, if you strip the boot floor you will see wires coming from the floor iirc one is for the fuel pump and the other is the abs sensor from the diff,

cut the front sensor wire from the loom and just join the loom to the sensor at the back sensor

just a case of the car thinking that the front sensors are the rear sensor

this way the car will think that the traction is fine and it will never cut in :)

also there is a another way same thing, but sometimes a bit more difficult, all the abs wires come to the front of the car, so instead of taking your own wire to the back you can find all the wires at the front, however its kinda hard finding out which is the rear abs wire

Got hold of a 3.91 diff from a C180 manual and GT GARAGE in Bristol welded it up for me :worthy:

Trouble is, it dont fit :(

Physically bolts up, but prop and driveshafts are different.

So I will have to remove stock diff and get it welded.

Or give up and fuck it off and buy something else.

Second option is tempting at mo.

dont know if its any help mate but i remember seeing a merc 600 for sale on retro rides a while ago and the bloke just shorted 2 connectors out on a plug that goes to the ECU with a pin. he used it for track and apparently did the job
i would get the link but im currently at college and the stupid filter system means i cant get onto RR :(

I reckon that'd be BigPerm you're talking about... Was at the retrorides show having lots of fun. He has access to lots of Merc bits etc, not sure what he does job wise though!

First option - just get the present diff welded, seems a bit odd to want to just give up and buy something else when all that's holding you back is a welded diff, which is easily solvable. It'd be nice with the different ratio's, but not essential right? I feel like I'm missing something (e.g. lots of other problems too...)

Nope its mint and never misses a beat.

Main issue is its my 130 mile a day daily driver so cant really have it off the road while its done, hence the other diff I wasted 100quid on.

Ah. Organise someone to weld it on a saturday and remove sat morn, get welded, and fit in afternoon/evening. Not ideal, but doable.
Hopefully that diff is something someone will want and is resellable.

Not easy on the car. Only place I can realistically leave it while still using it to get to work and back cant weld diffs, just fit and remove em.
Basically its one big ballache.

If it wasnt my daily and I didnt need to do 130miles a day itd be piss, but i do, so its a coont.

Stav keep an eye on the cam magnet under that plastic cover at front of engine, they leak oil into loom and wreck ecu's and lambda sensors. Also check your breather system as they are known to fill up maf's with oil wrecking those

Good work though, 230's go very well

you should look into getting an eaton M90 they can boost way more and you will still have the even boost you have now...

you can get them quite cheap off ebay from the US... i have read that they bolt strait up but being MB no could not find a build with one :( worth a look anyway...

I modified the breather sys the day I got it as I didnt like how it was plumbed in as standard so thats no prob.
I got oil all over the front underside of the engine tbh, dunno where its coming from, doesnt use any oil really though and keeps rust at bay so fuck it, lol.

Cant see how an M90 would bolt straight up? An M90 off what? 99% of Eatons ive seen as OEM apps have custom exteriors, snouts, etc to suit the car they are on.

Modified my alternator earlier with a angle grinder so it no longer rattles againt the uprated arb, well, not much anyhow, so thats better.

JUs hope/pray I can get the diff welded before next saturday.......

Dont give up on it, this is probably one of my favourite projects on here, purely because its something different thats annoyingly affordable!

nope just had a look and the drawings and they are defiantly different sizes...

you will have to get a custom snout and mod the intake manifold a little

the most common m90 is found on dodge lightning pickups in the US they take them off to put bigger chargers on... but they do also come on some jags... you can get them for about $200 off ebay they flow quite a bit more than the m62
