Mercedes C230 Kompressor

Another classic Stav car, love it and inititally i was surprised at the water injection but then remembered whose thread i was readings ! haha

Awesome project. If you do get it to 400+bhp I take it you need aftermarket ecu or can you get it working with the standard ecu?

Stock ECU is pretty dogshit so yeah something else is needed.

It self learns quite nicely up to a certain level it seems (i say seems as its all forum heresay and bullshat so who knows), but nowhere near 400 brake. The 450bhp turbo one on stock internals I know of in the UK has a Simtek ECU on it IIRC

Tbh I doubt there would be self learning in a good way, most ecus reduce power from more or at least in most of my card with out a remap. My dad has an s500 so sometimes I check what's happening on the merc forums saw your thread on mbuk lol. What fannys they can be, they do that to anyone who doesn't think a merc Is a coffin on wheels.

they have 1.5% max rich/lean compensation stav, not a huge scope to rely on:thumbs: Anything past that pops engine light on and limp mode

Got to be more than that as people fit different size charger pullies with no issues and no remaps.

Fuck knows, skids the EDC track at pod no prob as it is so thatl do

Def only 1.5% buddy, thats the adaptation mixture adjustment limit

If it is doing ok leave it alone, just keep an eye on the common shit i mentioned earlier and enjoy:thumbs:

Some pics from the last DWYB thanks to Blackett :worthy:

Had a 2nd attempt at water injection the other night, this time a mechanical setup, a super pikey one at that that cost me about a fiver.

Worked way way better than the first try, was seeing more boost as I guess the water was closing up the tollerances in the charger, infact you could watch the gauge rise with a fairly steady rpm as it happened. Also was stronger overall so mustve had a decent cooling effect too.
BUT it was no good, either the ECU wasnt liking the extra airflow/boost, or the blowthru MAF was getting wet, but now and again it hit what felt like a boost cut.
Happened far less with less water, but the good effects were less too.

So I fucked it off and put on a silicone hose I found in the shed...

Went down the scrappy and stole a piece of trim that was blown off by delaminating tyres at santapod from a C220 that was down there, sprayed that red, and looking good as new now.

And exhaust was blowing the other day, just loose bolts i did up in ten mind, so the car still retains its totally reliable despite doing 182 thousand miles record.

Another DWYB on the 27th and MOT soon too. Cant see anything it will fail on, but work needed for MOT will decide wether it stays, or gets broken for bits...

how have you set up the WI matey?? could you PM me details??
I was looking at doing this with the truck to get a bit more go, but was thinking of using one of the old 215cc intectors and putting it in to one of the IC pipes some where??

Jono
