How drifting SHOULD look.

YAS! I was super excited for this event to kick off to be honest. :D Whilst they were drifting, we were drifting @ Driftland and then Crail the following day.. only to get home on Sunday night to start seeing all the coverage from BOUT! Rocking it.

Here's my take. There is a small group of people I have personally met.. and a larger group internationally.. who drift (like all us) who have a certain passion to achieve something more than just a silvia with loads of lock and some whatever wheels can be found.

This has been noted by alot of people and one of those people was Gary Boyd. He organised the FINAL BOSS event souly for this reason. To combine the drivers and cars of this to one place. Then FINAL BOUT got announced.. it was the same thing.. but in the US! So bigger.. more cars.. more awesomeness.. An American group of likeminded drifters with style in mind.

The UK overall is really embarrasing. Its been so since the start.. each time I come across another BDC / UK Comp car.. I was to spew in my mouth.. Covered in irrelevant sponsors and really badly designed graphics it just makes them look shit.. tie that in with the fact that everyone has a million and one reasons to NOT slam their car and there you have it.. shit looking typical jeep spec BDC cars.. tie THAT in with everyone here pulling on handbrakes for days and you got the UK scene.

Times need to change.. people need to seriously put some effort into their cars and make them look decent.. cause hardly any of them do. FINAL BOSS will be back to Scotland though ...

I was speaking to some of the drivers of BOUT and there's been mention of making it an International event.. :D :D :D

Probably closest we got in the UK! :D These dudes were killing it all weekend AND their cars were sick.

Finally people are starting to see beyond the whole "BMW Missle y0" scene! Nothing better than seeing properly built cars that are people's pride and joys getting driven hard on track in the manner of having fun with friends

thats the issue. people build pride and joys and lifestyle like bitches.

i hate bitches..................

anyway from what i saw the Dentalfloss weekender at bladland was cool. some reet snazzy vehicles were there.

EDIT: thing is as well the yanks seem more bothered about good looking cars than skid cars. i'd normally say thats gay as fuck but it makes for awesome viewing as you can see.

Some of us are trying to Save the UK from turning into some fuck fest of poorly styled Eastern European style cars with 4x4 ride hieght, with 5J trolly wheels.

So essentially this thread is about how the cars look, not how they are driven?? This is the issue I have with this country, everyones all about how many lows and how much baller baws you roll. Should it not be about the quality of the skids?? People need to be able to drive them otherwise its a modern day carpark meet with some burnouts, which is way gayer than a jacked shit looking skid car hooning around a track. I am confused by this.

The thing is, most the people who bang on about lowzzz and rimzzzzz don't even drift, just lifestyler gaylords. Or the second they hit the track they remove their kit and fit a set of stock S14 rims to drift on.

As that vid shows, the cool looking cars DO drift.

Drifting in anything is better than low scene lifestylers who do fuck all.
But cool looking cars drifting is better than both.

And to be fair, for me anyhow, what made that vid is the team stuff, with actual cars that look like a team.

I totally agree with that, I'd like to see more mates getting on each others doors and not giving a fuck. Drifting in this country does need a punch in the guts.

Oh...

Bout looked amazing for sure.

About the UK scene - it's not that bad! You guys are too fucking negative about your cars and driving haha. Some of the nicest/most badass cars I've seen are there, and some of the most aggressive driving too. Sure there's a shitload of sad cunts with horrible taste, but believe me - that happens everywhere!

What it comes down to in my opinion is the balance between being interested solely in driving and being interested in cars. You have to take pride in your car, and you have to also realize that it's a tool to do a job - not just a show piece. Then you end up with a nice looking car that gets down properly.

I'm abit on the fence wih this one......

I personally care alot what my drift car looks like and yes it is on the floor and not very functional for road use, the arches need repainting every time I drive it but it's fun and I love the way my car looks. When it sees a track it gets death, I'm all about no handbrake entries / minimal handbrake to adjust or correct mid drift .... Locking all fours boss. I hate initiating on the wand Opposite entry and then a few tugs on the wand to slow it down if need be at the very worst My car (E34 540) is a heavy car with alot of intertia behind it.

However, saying that the UK Drift Scene SHOULD look like this is fucking retarded, I personally think everyone has their own style, if people want to bash missile cars into walls who cares .... infact it's awesome fun and great proximity practice. A few of the cars in that video have stupid ghheeeyyyy stickers all over them but no "theyre cool because they are low and not British"
The Uk Drift scene I think is behind the rest of the world by a long way IMO but that is only something that will improve with time, Also I think it is very British way to look at something and be like ermmmm yeah I can actually do that alot cheaper by not buying a manual Soarer, I'll buy an E36 328 which in fairness will skid most circuits that we are aloud to drift at in the UK perfectly well. Why spend loads on wheels when you can spend it on seat time. You have to look at it from the other side.

I personally think all cars should be on gangster wheels and driven like a boss, no hanging on the wand for miles etc but the reality is people will do what they want and they're happy doing so. With reference to BDC, it's not a style Championship, in fairness most sponsors on cars are far from pointless irrespective of how they look..... If someone has very little money a free clutch will mean the world so why not run a sticker. I get that all the competition cars can't run on the floor for transportation purposes etc. If you're bored by BDC so be it, I'm sure they couldn't careless whether one man get's bored halfway through a livestream turns it off to possibly wank over Japanese/ American drifting videos talking to himself "This is what the UK Scene SHOULD look like"

Just my opinion don't take it personally.

The UK is still mostly dogcrap looking comp cars covered in random sponsor stickers, and banger looking practice cars.

.

hence why i had fun and done what i liked ;) i go out drift/drag/track my car cos its built to have fun :) and fuck all the v8/police haters lol

well if it had a SR when i got it and if the paint wasnt thin as shit then maybe lol but then it will just be mittos car lol and to me it looked like every other dam s14 boring in my eyes. As i said it was built for ME to have fun not to win championships or get big names on board not into that shit. Its all about having fun is it not?

Only pulling your leg dude.

I'm all for making cars look good and also using them equally as hard on track. I honestly can't stand the whole BWM/Missile scene, I mean there's nothing better than looking at your pride and joy in the pits, then abusing the living day lights of it on the track. Just because I make sure my car is up together and looks good doesn't mean I don't peddle the bugger any less

edit- rarrrgh, im not even going to bother. The above pictures paint a thousand words.

I have been trying for years to show people it really isnt difficult to make nice cars.

Wheels that fit and reasonable ride height.

It is that easy. I dont know why people make it so difficult. Or even worse that people actually pay large amounts of money to make cars look shit.

But no point shouting about it. If the majority in this country havnt got it yet after all these years, there never going to.
