You will see in good time, things should hopefully start picking up momentum soon :)

So today, my friend Ian popped down and decided to crack on with tubbing the front arches again. We planned to start on the other side before we start plating the sides of the tubs so it'll be easier to make sure both tubs are level and symmetrical to each other. Prepped the arches and sheet metal ready for welding, and let Ian do what he does :)

And the end result of todays effort, amongst many coffee breaks; (Started to go dark hence the terrible pictures ;) )

I/we can't wait for them to be done, they're really starting to take shape and can't wait to have a pretty engine bay at last. Hoping to put some hours into prepping the engine bay to make sure everything is spot on before I even consider putting the engine in.

Fingers crossed we can both make some time soon so we can finish them off, he'll be happy I wont have to ask him to tub my arches anymore :wack: Joking aside, he's doing a sterling effort in helping me, appreciate it dude!

Back to uni for another week, so progress may be slow mid week but things are being planned in the back ground which I'm hoping in a few months will make this build thread are lot more fun and positive :)

That's cool mate, its really coming together now.Hopefully next time we can get it finished & all buttoned up.

aaarggg, how do you have time on weekends... have final exams in 3 weeks :/

(rant over)

haha good luck dude! Digging the direction, those tubbed wheel wells are starting to look good :D

Haha I know what you mean, final year of uni has such a massive workload to do and it's only the 2nd week! :( thanks man, will be cool to have them finished and smoothed in :D

Nice. Proper love this build what front end u using

At the moment it's still running my S13 bonnet and lights, the intention was to stay as a "Onevia" but somebody had plans too similar to what I was planning, so a PS front may be on the cards pending funds :)

Loving this build the world needs more guys like you

Thanks man, appreciate that! You own some sweet cars so I'll take that as a right complement :D I'm sure you'll like what's coming in the future ;)

Any more progress mate. Tubs look sweeet

Not much progress at the moment dude, quite busy at uni and haven't had much time to touch the car. However, parts have started turning up so things should start revealing themselves soon :)

Well what with the current weather and inflated uni work load at the moment, progress is slow and I know I keep saying about ill be revealing something soon, it will begin soon so hopefully I can start revealing it

Set about today removing the old turbo setup off my SR, not as much of a hectic job everyone makes out :wack:

Wasn't going to post any information about these until I fitted them but they're just so god damn good to look at I need to share and keep you guys entertained :)

So, as soon as I got the rear end sitting nice and low, I kind of sold my Apex Gen2 Coilovers  They served me well and if the time came to change them, it'd be now during the build process. Obvious choices included Driftworks CS2's BUT since I was so happy with the build quality of my Powered By Max stuff, I couldn't help but treat myself to a set of their coilovers.

So first things first, I sold my Dildo gear knob and promptly received this;

Colour is in Black Chrome which in the flesh makes a slight but noticeable difference against gloss black, another little detail I'm putting into the car which should help everything come together at the end, plus I liked the look of these gear knobs and feel surprisingly nice in the flesh!

Next up was this box!

Just looking at the diagrams on the box I was stupidly excited to open them, the phrase like a kid at Christmas certainly springs to mind!

My word they look so much better in the flesh, they are UNREAL! Quality wise, I was genuinely blown away after being used to Apex Gen2's (Nothing against them) and the quality is a notch up from the rear hubs which I wasn't sure was possible! Those who know the PBM range will have noticed these aren't the "Competition" or entry level coilers, they're indeed the Pro range which feature;

MAX PRO COILOVERS

MAX PRO coilovers have many of the best things you have come to expect from our competition coilovers like front and rear pillowball upper mounts, light weight aluminum brackets and full tap independent pre-load and ride-height adjustability. They also have high quality components and a robust damper. Heres what you get with the PRO coilovers that is not offered on the Comp:

1. Super Light Linear Spring:
PRO coilovers have more grip for higher powered cars due to the Japanese high tensile alloy wire used in the NEW SLL Springs which feel softer than the Comp. standard SiCr springs because the rate is more linear. The SLL springs make this pro coilover even lighter than the comp coilovers. This pro coilover also feels comfortable on the street and has increased stroke.

2. Higher Ride height:
Comp. coil over customers on a budget will probably always have the stock rear knuckle. Therefore to go really low (esp. in an S13) Comp's must have the 200mm rear damper body. (style over performance)
Pro Coilover Owners Spend more money on their car because they appreciate the finer points of high performance tuning & tend to pair the PRO coilover with our Rear Drop Knuckle because if its roll center & spherical bearing Handling advantages. The drop knuckle lowers the car 25mm, and that means the coil over must be adjusted 25mm higher to be at the same ride height as the OEM knuckle so this is the reason to have 230mm rear damper bodies in the S13 Pro coil over. The longer damper has more oil for heat absorption and more stroke for a better ride.

3. Caster Adjustability on the front top mount:
Comp. coilovers have camber adjustment, and PRO adds Caster adjustability through the circular mounting hole pattern. With Pro coilovers you can turn the camber slot in any direction to adjust both camber and caster at the same time. Caster adjustability is best done by balancing the caster setting between our aftermarket tension rod and this Pro Coilover top plate because it allows the wheel to stay centered in the wheel well for best clearance at any camber setting. If you only adjust on the tension rod because your coilovers lack the caster top plate, then the wheel is pushed forward for higher caster setting, and aft for lower then stock caster which compromises clearance especially at double the stock steering angle provided by our forged super angle knuckles.

4. Spherical bearing rear lower mount:
Comp coilovers have Bearing uppers and urethane rear lower mounts because they are usually paired with OEM knuckles/links. PRO coilovers add teflon lined spherical bearings in the rear lower mount making them perfectly paired with our all-bearing multilink for the ultimate control, adjustability and freedom of motion.

Unique Features:
~ Super Light Linear Spring
~ CNC aluminum components double coated with pure copper, sealed with clear urethane
~ Pillowball uppers front and rear (teflon lined maintenance free)
~ Pillowball lower mounts (except Z33)
~ Fine damper threads to resist loosening *use anti-seize on damper threads during install to maintain ease of adjustability through wet weather use
~ Rebound Infinitely adjustable hard to soft setting with 12 click tactile feedback knob.
~ Damping compliments the SLL springs and high traction.
~ Camber AND CASTER adjustable front upper mount
~ 2 Degrees of negative camber built into lower mount with round holes not oval.
~ Lifetime warranty against manufacturer defect

Spring rate wise, they're 10/8's so a tad stiffer than CS2's but supposedly the fancy SLL springs will make them feel a bit softer than they actually are, as well as aiding rear grip :) Cant wait to install them and set them up, but the other part of me just wants to keep them in their box for the rest of their lives haha

This is just the beginning of things to come :wack:
