They are cheap for a reason (hint: old). From worn out mechanicals to structurally weak bodies. I heard the bottom of the A pillars is common to rust out in E30: that's pretty dangerous IMO. Really, if you're short on cash, you'd be better off taking your 106 to an amateur grip event.
From the analysis I made, grip is a lot cheaper than drift.

Hi all!

I am new to driftworks but familiar with the sport Drifting. Got it first from Initial-D
Two years ago I owned a Toyota Supra SZ MV4 but due the daily use, it was way too expensive to drive. Had to stop by the petrol station every week!
So after driving an Audi A6 and BMW 530D for a while, my right foot itches again hehe
It's time to get a JDM back!

So I am just browsing this forum trying to learn a thing or two. Oh and I am from Holland

welded is when you weld the inner things in the diff so the wheels spin exactly the same its like if you go straight ahead all the time not very handy in everyday basis because u have to drift in every turn almost :P im just a newbie so i dont really know exactly wut an lsd diff is but its way more better than a stock diff easier to drift with :P it hink i posted this to answer someone but dont know who :P

Welcome,

Theres this little place in Norfolk called Kings Lynn that has regular beginner practice days with tuition, cheapness, tyres and is very relaxed at the Norfolk Arena - look in the other events section to find out more !!

Dont know if you've ever heard of that place :D

Iv watched the BDC there but never seen anything advertised for Drift lessions. I'll have a nose in the event section like you say.
