New to drifting?

Hi im new to the site im 21 from east sussex area, just lookin for some advice on which courses to try to have a go at drifting always wanted to try it, i live quite near to lydd and was thinking about trying one of thier full day courses for a start if you have any info would be appreciated,

Where to start?

Ive been mad on drifting for a couple of years now.
I live about half a mile away from the Llandow race track - i guess you lot know it.
Im only 18 so have little cash and the insurance companies dont want to insure me for anything less than 1k on my little 1.1 peugeot.
However im absolutely desperate to get into drifting as soon as the insurance will let me.
Where is the best place to start? Is there anywhere you can try drifting off roads?
Cheers

Bmw 5

hey I'm Ruben and I live in Belgium.

I want to buy a a BMW 5-serie 525i berline from '91. (192 HP and 2.5l)
He already has 280.000 KM. But you get a low price for dat ofcourse.
So what is smarter: buy a more expensive car or buy this one so I have more money to get him ready for drifting?

grtz Ruben

We dont accept people just joining up and trying to sell thier shit on here !! :smash: :smash: :smash:

Hence why I suspect your posts and links have been deleted or removed.

But that shouldnt confuse you - as you obviously read the terms before you signed up, and the stickies in the for sale section :wack:

And yes, the smilies work perfectly - we just dont have one for first post trader cocksmokers !!

Welcome to :dw:

bmw e36 325/328 good drift car?

hi there im new to the drifting world and i am about to buy my first car for it. I bought an old e30 325 touring a while back and had a couple of play around sessions in that but then the drive got to full up with wackey rally cars and old jags so it had to go. i know have the room and a bit of spare cash im looking to spend about 1500 and from what i have seen on the net i cant really get a 200sx that is worth buying for that money but i can get an e36 325/328. my question is will have enough grunt to keep the wheels spinning in second and third as my old e30 wouldn't if any1 has one or has seen people using them (without having to spend lots of money tuning the engine) could they let me know if i will be happy with one.

Whats the difference between a welded diff and an LSD?
In layman's terms a diff allows the rear wheels to spin at different speeds when cornering. By welding it up it makes it easier to break traction cos it will force the inside wheel to spin at the same speed as the outside. down side is if its a daily driver parking and slow maneuvering can be interesting. At least thats my understanding of it! :¬D

A friend of mine has a 328i and it feels like it has a lot more torque than a standard 200sx, certainly enough to have fun with!
