cheers
Hi Jon,
The Drift Bible is a good way of understanding what's involved. It's no substitute for getting out there and having a go yourself though.

As far as insurance goes, I doubt anybody here has special insurance for drifting. We all just understand that if we bend it, we mend it :smash:

hey peeps!

right im saving up for a drift car! but...i cant decide which one would be the best for me to start off with! i thought a 200sx but im not sure! help!!!

AWD drifting

i recently purchased a '97 mitsubishi eclipse gsx. its AWD and turbocharged and i want to know if i can drift it. if so what would i need to upgrade to get it to drift.

Depends on your budget really. Anything RWD with a reasonable amount of torque should be driftable. Sierras and BMWs are good for cheapo drifting, or if you've got a little more to spend then a 200SX would probably be your best best as they're so popular and so many aftermarket parts are available.

Of course, all the cool people start off in underpowered little cars so if you want to get maximum kudos then I'd say an MX-5 is the right way to go ;-)

To be honest that was more of a joke than anything. My ethos is that I would rather learn in something which is harder to drift because it teaches you more precise control, but that's simply my opinion. You'll find it easier to drift in something more powerful so it really depends on how you want to do it.

im new to drifting and i need to know every thing there is to know about the sport.

:dw:

Hello im aswell new to drifting and i want to buy a BMW 3series E30 or a nissan S13. I decided when i find a good one here in germany.

Hay, iv been watching drifting for a while and kinda understand the basics. I started building a car a while ago and it was intended to be a street drag car, but once i saw drifting i was hooked. I have a 91 Camaro that i have taken the computerized V6 out of and put a 305 with two fours edlebrock each 600cfm carburetors. I know this is a little older then normal, and probably not the smartest idea, but i was wondering if this would work if i bought a positrack and some hard tires for the rear. I have done some really weak drifting, more or less going into a corner to fast and just fish tailing, but its still fun. saving the thing that will make all of you mad, its an automatic 4 speed turbo 700 R4 tranny :(

hey im really interested in drifting and i have a 1993 nissan 240sx. What are some parts and upgrades i should invest in?

I'm not realy new to it...

I have a through understanding on how to it...

I practice sometimes, but only when it rains. I have a Mazda 3 with a slapstick sportshifter in it, new tires, and new brakes. I want to get better at drifting, and I will.

What car do you have for practice then? Because of course the Mazda 3 is FWD and I think you'd be in for a hell of a lot of stick if you claimed to have a "thorough understanding" of drifting when in fact you don't even realise you need a RWD car to do it.

Welcome, I hope your stay is not as unpleasant as it seems it might be...
