New to drifting?

I dont wanna sound like everyone else but, what would b a cheap(ish) car to get started with. Would something like a s12 be good to start with. Got about a grand max to spend. Cheers

Whats the difference between Front OR Rear wheel drive? in terms of skid pan lessons?

I want to book my boyfriend a course in skid pan but you have to specify either front or rear wheel drive and if i ask him, he'll get suspicious!

Can anyone help me, I can't help it, i'm a woman lol!!

By the way, whats this website get against the English? I couldn't find London on the time zone list so had to pick a time zone from a completely different country!

the difference between front and rear wheel drive is that the car get drivern by the front wheels and the engine sits sideways if a 2 wheels drive car and the on rear wheel drives is that the power goes straight through to the back wheels only and engine faces in that direction thats all i kno lol
 
hello again i had a bit of a problem tonite drifting i sort of got it goin with the hand brake drift but then the front end dug in wen i tried doin it agian can anyone help?
 
Hey im just starting out and was thinking about getting a volvo 340 1.4, is it ok to start with? I cant afford to insure much else. Also does anyone know if there are exhausts available for these or do i have to get one built?

Jesus - you are supposed to have a thread each arent you?? :wack:

Jim the Junior - I drift an S12 and they are great starter cars - cheap with lots of power. Can be an arse once you get proper good (100 mph+) as diffs and coilovers are difficult but a good starter. You can pick them up for anything from about £250 to £800 these days :thumbs:

Marslar - you cant really drift an FWD car, so Id go for the RWD one. If you are just looking for on road control and stuff, then go for it, but if its pure drifting you are keen on look at one of the many school days on eurodrift and driftschool.

Crippledstoner - doesnt matter which way round the engine is. :no: Handbrakes are only really used for initiation, and usually only when you are fairly advanced. Concentrate on the throttle and the clutch more mate ;)

WindyJake - 340's are supposedly alright, but Id try and stretch to a 1.7 - a 1.4 is going to struggle in the dry :)

Damo - all RWD cars would do it so everything you have mentioned is cool. Id advise a Nissan, but then just as many people would say a beemer. :thumbs:

No, that would work although you might find that as you got better youd want more powers. I think 94 is an E36 - Id recommend an E30 coz they are lighter and cheaper, but its up to you :thumbs:

Hi All, I Have A Real Bug For Drifting, Is There Somewhere I Can Go For Lessons In The Essex Area, I Dont Have A Car Suitable For Drifting Yet Except A Navara Pick Up, Lol Im Gonna Leave That 1 There. Before I Splash Out On A Drift Car, I Want To Try It Out A Few Times, Im Sure You All Understand, Know Of Anywhere?
