Northern drift championship teesside autodrome 24/25th march

Can only be cage = twinning, no cage = no twinning. I cant see any way to divide it any further. And if you only have one extra level of competition past the qualifying (ie a top four shootout) then nobody goes away feeling like they 'missed out', because everybody has done the same amount of practise and qualifying, and only the very best get to do the final round.

Just thinking aloud more than anything else :)

Whats the format for the 2 days going to be? I knownits only early days but Do you have a time table jen?

Thanks

Like BDC it seems, first day practice and qualifying, 2nd day competition (assuming practice for all on morning, finals in afternoon).

Some of us are very happy to twin without cage, and will sign a disclaimer saying so. So I guess its upto organisers if they insurance states twinning with a cage only or whether its there own decision and just following BDC rules. I cant remember a crash at Teesside being so bad that a cage was needed to save the driver. Either way I'm not bothered, just wanna skid as much as possible.

Yeah I meant specifically for insurance purposes. I would also twin drift without a cage (a la Buxton), but realistically I dont see that happening (apart from Buxton).

On Tuesday evening hopefully I will be able to update you all on the new classes and the way judging will be done I will also hopefully starting to take bookings for this event there will be a down load able form to fill in or possibly one to request to be sent out. In the mean time if you have any questions please ask. Darren the second day will be a short practice in the morning followed by quaili then finals so everybody will get a chance to do some drifting on both days .

Since there is a fair bit of interest in this how much people will be able to sign up to this or you planning on first come first serve?

Also my car is only 135bhp standard wit a filter and de-cat/cat back exhaust so not exactly powerful and im not the most experienced, however its clear there are many people like me so wouldnt phase me goin in at semi pro...... sure it would be a good laugh!

is the amateur class still limited by the car and modifications? or is driver skill and track experience being taken into account

Buxton is unique in that respect though, nowhere else is ever going to be like that I wouldnt have thought :)

so where and how do we go about registering..... have got the hotel booked, but unless am blind a cant see a post anywhere in here telling me how to go about registering.

Anywhere can do it with proper insurance. Drift One have £10m proper trackday insurance. Nowhere in it is there a stipulation about how far apart cars should be or any mention of cages. It only recognises 'competition' as first past the post racing or timing, so we operate well within it's criteria.
