A quick question, have found out my s13 doesnt have a consult port, so im guessing it has an older loom for the ca, if i wanted to put nistune in what else would i need other than consult port. ie wideband as mine doesnt have one?

@mossy2k

the early cars did not have consult ports but the part of the type 1 nistune board installation allows for a usb port to be installed inside your case for diagnostics and realtime tuning.

@jabraan cheers mate, is cool to know, do i still need lambda sensor or the type 1 boards for early models, my ca has stage 3 chip and wud prefer it mapped than chipped

ah ok, mine has no o2 sensor, no consult port, my ecu has a stage 3 chip but wud prefer to be mapped so want to get an idea of what i wud need

Best to double check with the Nistune guys and/or whoever is going to map it (Martin B???)

May/may not be an issue, afterall pre-facelift cars didn't come with Lambda and I assume the Nistune is fine on them too.

Any1 no the timing setting on a ca18det stage 1 and stage 2?

Also car runs lumping on tick over runs fine when reving but on tick over whole block shaks its had new plugs and mounts iv got some more coil packs to put it any other possible causes?

Ignition timing is 14 Deg BTDC.

Yours sounds like the cambelt is a tooth out tho, easy mistake to make.

Could be iv not done the belt was going to do it for peace of mind think the last owner may of done it but dont trust hes mechanical knowledge

Yep, single worst thing about S13's is their previous owners :wack:

Other things to check are the CAS, the CAS splines, the CAS key and the splines on the camshaft - make sure they're all good, otherwise the timing will be all over the place and it can be a real head scratcher.

Hi guys wondering if any one can tell if the metal pipe out of the block at the water pump is part of the block or is it separate ? Cant figure if it the big hose on to this is leaking or the pipe itself ????

Sorry jump in with different question

Cam sensor bolted on to the timing belt cover at front of engine it held on with three bolts. Undo the connector on bottem an unbolt it an it will come away has a splined shaft that locates in the exhaust cam / pully
